EMILIO’S STORY

For the past three years, Emilio has been a grassroots organizer and a renter in Marcy Holmes, spending their time organizing for immigrant rights through the Drivers’ Licenses for All and North STAR Act movements.

While proud of the impact these trailblazing bills have had on the community, these bills also represent a resounding call for public safety for all Minnesotans, and now Emilio is taking the fight to city hall.

“You’re here for a reason. You’re here because you’re sick of it and you want to see it change. This is our future, and I deserve to have my voice heard and my vision realized, because I believe we share the same voice, vision, and heart. We believe in human rights, uncompromisingly and without question. Together, we will empower and uplift, from the bottom up, and do away with our society’s antiquated and punitive worldview with one that is compassionate. We must move into the future because that is who we are and what we represent. My generation has been burdened by humanity’s greatest failures and challenges, and I’ll be fucking damned if my children enter the same world. I believe they won’t. Let’s make sure they don’t.”
